Slovin: How was your training camp?

Boetsch: Training camp was great. I had plenty of time to prepare, not the usual two weeks notice or whatever. I had the time to do a real training camp for this one. Everything went really well, I had a lot of good training partners. I got to travel a little bit, went out to Vegas, worked with Frank Mir and Robert Drysdale, all those guys at Striking Unlimited, learned a lot out there. I'm really happy with the timing and just how everything worked out. I’m pumped to get in there and fight.

Slovin: So you were out there training with Frank Mir and Drysdale, were you working specifically jiu jitsu or were you working all around MMA training while you were out there?

Boetsch: We were focusing on those, well originally my opponent was James Lee, he finished a lot of fights with leg locks and those sorts of submissions, so I went out there to work with those guys specifically on that, but we also did some general MMA training.

Slovin: Can you give us the background on your jiu jitsu and wrestling? You were a 4 time state-champion and you competed in Abu Dhabi, can you give us a quick history on that?

Boetsch: Well I’ve wrestled my whole life. That’s my main background in the sport and obviously that carries over pretty well in jiu jitsu. You're on the ground controlling your opponent and putting them in vulnerable positions, that carries over pretty well with what I already know. As far as my jiu jitsu background, I’m still learning a lot, I know I’ve got a lot to learn, I've only been training MMA for two years, so I’m still learning a lot.

Slovin: How about your striking?
